I'm curious about how exactly it mounts to the camera. If it uses the tripod mount, what keeps the camera from slowly unscrewing from the strap? Is there like a double nut style tightening procedure involved?

I purchased two black rapid straps so that I can use two cameras. I received them last month and I noticed that the new r2 coupler was not part of my order. I have the old plastic. Also I am 5'4 and I have a problem adjusting the straps so that they feel safe with two cameras. I have tried several time to reach someone who can assist me but to no avail. I love the idea but so far I am not willing to take a chance that my cameras will find themselves on the ground with my expesive lenses. Please assist.
Thank you

You could get a better clasp but you are talking about something that is going to be bigger and bulkier then what they have. plastic tube approach is fine as I have seen this in the past with MANY things IE: childproofing. Yeah, it will make it slightly harder to take off and put on but it is worth it.

Why include a tube to hold the clasp?

Why not just get/use/make a better clasp?

For $48 I don't want to trust the piece holding my camera to be a small plastic tube.

The tubing ensures that the connector on the strap does not inadvertently open up and separate itself from the FastenR on the camera.
