Look for freeware called “Mangle” – it seems to be the best current solution for reading existing manga libraries on the kindle/kindle2 (and word is it does a great job!)

Im new to the kindle wave, i konw you have wireless capabilities to get the books but what other wireless capabilities? email? How destructible is it?
will i break it easily? what is the key pad used for primarily. How is the wi fi signal?

If they didn’t use a proprietary format, people might just get a netbook that offers far more value for the price to read pdf and html.

Here are what I want to know before buying it:

1. PDF. Convert a PDF novel using Amazon service and see how readable the result will be.

2. Language support. Can it read PDF with embedded Chinese font?

3. HTML support. How to read a full HTML document.

yes, I would like 2nd this question, and 3rd it and 4th it. Basically the 10 cents to “email documents to yourself” is a joke. Also I hear you have to use some kind of convertor software to change pdf files to mobi or somethign like that. I’d like to see somebody make a screencast of doing this. And by that so people can see how lame it is that you can’t just put your own damn pdf files on the reader for political reasons.

From what I have read, the voice is more like a GPS navigation voice than a book on tape voice actor.

I am slightly confused with it potential and all its functionality and practicality of what it is actually trying to achieve?

It kind of feels to me like the mini disc player taking over the CD, is it needed?

The more I think about it, the more appealing the “read to me” feature is. I’d like to hear about how good the voice is on that, and how easy it is to get used to, or whether it’s just impossible to get into a book because the voice is so bad.
