ultimatefuryWe’re ’bout to see a bunch of Samuel L. Jackson. Remember how he briefly appeared after the Iron Man credits as Nick Furry hinting at Marvel’s future? Well, he just signed a huge deal that will place him in nine upcoming Marvel films, effectively creating a huge Marvel universe. Tight.

Not all the films have been announced yet, but so far they include Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers(!!!), and perhaps even a S.H.I.E.L.D movie with Jackson as the lead. We can’t wait to see what Stan Lee and Co. do with the Nick Fury role. Having this particular character link all the superhero movies together should (hopefully) create an immensely a deep storyline. We cannot wait to see how this pans out but the 61 year old Jackson should start sipping on some of that Infinity Formula tonight; he’s going to need it.

BTW, be thankful that David Hasselhoff isn’t reprising his 1998 role as Nick Fury; the overall sentiment would be a tad different.

  • As much as i like Samuel L. Jackson comedic style i was hoping for a more serious Nick Fury. Nick Fury is suppose to be a serious bad as not a big ass funny loud mouth, well at least he is better the the Huff(David Huff).

  • Samuel Jackson can play serious just fine – watch Pulp Fiction and see how intense he is. This is very good news and hopefully all 9 of these films turn out like Iron Man and not like the Fantastic Four.

  • The Hoff is better than Jackson,
The Hoff was cool and the Movie with the Hoff was great

  • wow. checking out this guys resume on IMDB a little while ago. He has to be the most prolific actor of the past 20-30 years. I think he does something like an average of 6 movies a year.

  • If you read Marvel’s “Ultimate” line of comic books (which is actually quite different than the regular universe ie: Hulk is a sex deprived rapist) then you will agree that Samuel L. is the perfect “Ultimate” version of Fury.

  • Am I the only one getting sick of seeing SLJ in every movie? You’ve made your mark Sam, let some other actors step into these roles. And Marvel, how about some original casting? Its no wonder all your movies over the last few years have blown, with the exception of Iron Man. And the casting in that movie for everyone except Iron Man and Jeff Bridges sucked too. I don’t know who his military friend was, but that guy was about as believable in a military role as Reese Witherspoon would be.

  • I like SLJ, but EVERY role he takes, he sounds like he’s just reading his lines for the first time– Christopher Walken-style on SNL. Ya don’t believe me? Next time you watch him in anything, remember this comment…
