El Al had this a couple of years ago, it worked great and was reasonably priced for a 10 hour flight. I remember they shared the technology with a couple other carriers, but I can’t remember who (Austrian Airlines could have been one of them).

They canceled it though when not enough people were using it to make it cost effective. Maybe now, a couple years later, more people would use it.

Personally, I can’t wait until all of the airlines have wi-fi access. I would easily pay a few bucks to have the luxury of internet access. The first success airlines to do this, should see a nice increase in business travel.

I took a Lufthansa usa-europe flight in 2004 and it had it that already…or at least I could navigate on internet while I was flying.

This is the airline that dumps a bible verse on your seat-back tray on every flight, whether you want it or not. Just watch out for commercials on the wireless service from their jesus church.

to bad finding the exact plane to test it on is going to be a trial. ;) It’s only being equipped with wifi on one (and despite the route) more than one plane may take it. ;)
