The guy who is trying to sell the original prototype iPhone on eBay just posted a video of this mutant in action. Thrill to half-hearted UI! Wonder in awe at the strange color scheme! Enjoy the brain-dead YouTube comments!
Check it out now before Apple tears this stuff down for trade secret violation.

Very good, thanks
not bad…
but nothing more than an attempt to prove that the product this guy is selling is legit.
smelly,
from you know where
Right.
goat smelly bitch,
from you know where
Stop spamming here, you retards…
How could Apple let this through if it were genuine?
Could it be jail broken running a custom UI?

Yeah… i think same…
luks like the graphics are fuked up and its runnin on 256 bit display….
Beta software of this kind of thing (which was pretty new at the time) is usually a little clunky and scrabbly. It’s a normal part of the dev process.
This is absolutly not a original prototype of the iPhone but it’s look like a Chinese copy of the iPhone. This one is smaller that the iPhone.
I saw it in sales in Singapore when I was overthere.
Oddly, the YouTube video page shows with a “This video is not available in your country.”
Did Apple have it removed?
I cant believe YouTube have removed the video?
What exactly is their justification?
The auction was removed by eBay…
More than a prototype looks like an imitation of the Iphone
ARGH! Youtube removed it.
Seriously, if somebody sneezes lately youtube will delete the video.
Someone re-uploaded it.

I remember reading somewhere (maybe on Wired?) that the hardware guys worked with a minimally-functional mockup OS, and the software guys worked with clunky faked-up hardware, so that none of the low-level people really had a full picture of what the phone would be like. I guess it’s true.
This guy’s photos and video are legit. Here are some snapshots of a couple other iPhone prototypes that I have. One of them is an earlier release; all black case and a matte, plastic screen.
What?
