Ha (n. Peter)! Presenting the best video of the day, the latest episode of GameTrailers’ Screw Attack. It’s sort of a retrospective on the game WWF WrestleMania 2000 for the Nintendo 64. I’d say that it’s still the best wrestling game to this date, and that includes WWF No Mercy. God did No Mercy slow down a lot.
My initial reaction to the video’s host was something like, “Who’s this jerk with his hat backwards? What does he know about WWF WrestleMania 2000? Then he proceeded to whip out every late 1990s WWF reference possible, certifying his bona fides in spades. So well done to you, sir.
I think the newest wrestling game I played was the first WWE game for Xbox, whenever that came out. (2001, 2002ish?) Garbage compared to Wrestlemania 2000. Good God, the hours wasted playing that game, creating esoteric Japanese wrestlers that I read about in Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, etc. Oh, youth.

The last wrestling game I played was WCW/nWo on the N64. It was a fun game, but not fun enough to ever pay for a wrestling game again.
The world needs more awesome wrestling games like this; and No Mercy was better.
But Fire Pro R is better than No Mercy.
Nice Torch reference though!
I agree with Bronson-Lee: Fire Prowrestling (in all its incarnations, esp. Fire Pro R) rules all wrestling games.
