I could not log onto my Starbucks ATT WiFi account today. I called ATT and they said it’s part of the Starbucks issue that they are tying to resolve as quickly as possible. And that it’s not a technical issue but rather a business issue that is the reason for the denial of access.

ATT gave me a temporary coupon to log on today so no problem with ATT. I hope ATT and Starbucks can resolve their business issue.

Anyone else have the same issue?

We’re on the horn with AT&T right now. What could be happening? Is it the end of the world?

UPDATE – AT&T writes:

I don’t think there’s anything widespread on this .. I’d know about it. The implementation was a rollout. Store by store (or region-by-region, really).

Perhaps Michael is in an underserved area? Crisis averted.

  • I’m sure this would have been announced if it was a widespread thing (and lots of angry calls would have forced their hand if they didn’t want to).

  • Just logged in here in Nashville, but it took about a half-dozen attempts…

  • I had identical experience today in Scarsdale, NY

  • I’m in Brooklyn and I have regular problems with AT&T wifi. It usually drops out 3 or 4 times a day, though I spend about 4 or 5 hours each day using it. When I’ve complained to AT&T, it’s been met with ineffective, half-hearted solution attempts.

  • I had the exact some problem yesterday, in Washington, DC. Tried calling the 888 number and I kept getting an “all circuits are busy” message.

  • In Odessa, TX for two weeks at the SBUX on 42nd St, I’ve had to login three or four times before I’m able to navigate to other sites. Sometimes it wraps back to the login screen and then I’m able to re-login & navigate to another site, and sometimes it goes to a page that states that I’ve not had a qualifying transaction on my SBUX card in the previous 30 days. Since I’m a SBUX Gold Card member and I use it every day of the week, I know that to not be the case. I, then, manually navigate back to the login page. Typically, it takes my login, and I’m able to navigate to other sites.

Interesting to find out that it’s happening all over the US. Ironically, I was surfing SBUX news to figure out why my SBUX stock closed above $10 today. :-P

  • I can never get on at any starbucks in the Wetchester area.

    • AT&T Wifi was not even showing up as a network while I and a few other customers were at starbucks in the Indianapolis area. I wonder what the problem is!?!?!?!
