I guess it isn’t that regular toys aren’t good enough, but they could be so much more. This little battle game is created by Frantz Lasorne, a French designer whose Master thesis is about augmented reality toys using a head-mounted display. The functionality you see is real, although it’ll be some time before the components for a display are affordable (and durable enough for kids to use).
At least when the technology comes of age, there’ll be a whole community of tabletop gamers ready to pick it up. Imagine this level of interactivity with, say, your Warhammer figurines. You may look a little bit nerdy, though.









Certainly would end the “I hit you” “no you didn’t” arguments that seemed endemic to playing with action figures since they removed all the shooting missiles for fear of kids choking themselves.
That looks awesome! Oh, so you need another player to enjoy this game.. what if you are the only child?
