If the earlier news from LG didn’t whet your appetite over new Apple hardware then BGR’s tidbit of news will certainly send you into a frenzy. One of BGR’s many “ninjas” was sifting through the 3.0 restore ramdisk and found a string of code that may or may not allude to multiple new devices. According to the “ninja,” Apple historically IDs their iPhone and iPod Touch in chronological order and found within the ramdisk are upwards of six new hardware IDs.
The short version is provided here, but the entire string can be found over at BGR.
“Apple normally makes their device IDs in chronological order, from first released to last released. Here is what I found very interesting for you. Quick, here is an example of the past devices:
iPhone First Gen – 0×1290
iPod touch 1G – 0×1291
iPhone 3G – 0×1292
iPod touch 2G – 0×1293Then, here is what is found in the ramdisk:
iPhone2,1 – 0×1294
iProd0,1 – 0×1295
iPod2,2 – 0×1296
iPhone3,1 – 0×1297
iFPGA – 0×1298
iPod3,1 – 0×1299″

iPhone 32gb
iPhone 64gb
iPod Touch 64gb
iPod Touch 120gb
iProd will be iPhone nano
and iFPGA I honestly have no idea
iFPGA will be a boutique item aimed at a “niche market” of pro golfers. Well, that’s what I get out of the PGA part anyway.
If this actually becomes true, though, remember you heard it hear first.
of course “here” not “hear”- shouldn’t type while I’m eating lunch!
And I always thought PGA stood for Peculiar Graphics Accelerator.
No chance that that one will come true but, if it did, what would the IF stand for?
Dear god, if you’re prediction is true, I’ll be ecstatic. I’ve been waiting to get a iPod touch until they release a bigger model. I have 40gb’s worth of music, that’s not including my mother media I’d put on there.
I’m stuck with a 120gb iPod Classic right now.
lmao, my “mother media” I uhh mean my, “other media.”
“iProd will be iPhone nano”
I seriously doubt the authenticity of this post.
I am a commenter with a face. My post is only predictions.
While I know people who work for Apple, and they do often tell me when things are changing, I would never post or suggest anything under my name.
Soooo take my post as only predictions. I have no idea at the moment what is going to happen.
iProd could be a the ever-elusive netbook/touchbook.
I think that iProd will likely be a special edition for ranchers, complete with the ability to shock cattle.
Does anyone know how to use a google search engine?
iProd-http://www.newscientist.com/blog/technology/2008/04/say-hello-to-iprod.html
iFPGA-
well, considering this is an FPGA

I’m thinking it has nothing to do with golfing.
iLovePhotos assigns tagged people in my photos to my iPhone contacts

It’s funny they are calling the new devices, iProd and iFPGA… :D
