Now THAT is a low price on a 24-inch monitor. Dell Small Business is selling the S2409W for $209 after $90-worth of instant savings, plus you can use coupon code 1Z829VM32T983V to knock another 10% off, bringing the final price to $188.10 after the dust settles (sorry, the coupon code doesn’t work anymore).
The monitor has a 1920×1080 resolution (16:9), DVI/HDMI/VGA connections, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, and 5ms response time. No built-in speakers but, hey, it’s $188 $209 — free shipping, too.

too bad it’s not the UltraSharp model…
Please don’t do this again. I know TC is experimenting with new revenue models, but this is just silly.
ummm… it’s just a cheap monitor for you guys to buy if you want to. it’s not an ad.
Ken, you don’t have any stinking right to tell TC what they can do and what they can’t. Don’t like it, get the hell out of here. TC has enough readers to lose one arrogant prick like you.
Ken, you don’t have any stinking right to tell TC what they can do and what they can’t.
I missed the part where Ken demanded that TC do as he say. Heaven forbid someone post something critical on here without the fanbois jumping on him. But don’t let that get in the way of your rant.
BlogReader – Read Ken’s comment again (sigh)
How dare they, KEN! How dare they! Ruff, Ruff!
Ruff, rufff, ruff!!
I doubt this is an advert, that’s just a really good deal worth mentioning. I’m going to buy one now so I’m glad I read the post, that means the post was USEFUL.
Listen home boy, go make your own blog to advertise whatever you like. And “experimenting with revenue models”? Last time I checked CrunchGear didn’t turn into a store to gain more revenue.
The coupon code only works once. It would not give me the additional 10% off.
John Biggs,
Don’t listen to these dumbasses… thanks for posting that link I already ordered one. Absolutely sick deal
Don’t listen to Ken.
I follow you guys on Twitter and I been in the market for a cheap Dell monitor.
I appreciate this post and I just might buy this! Thanks for the heads up!
works intermittently, apparently. it’s still cheaper than the $250 found elsewhere.
Damn. I just bought that screen yesterday on ebay for GBP 200!
Yes, the coupon code is one time only. Won’t give the additional discount.
The 10% coupon codes doesn’t apply.
Yep, no dice on the coupon. It wouldn’t let me use it. Still, the price is pretty doable at $209
here’s a short review of the screen by c|net http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors/dell-s2409w/4505-3174_7-33190912.html
I’d pay that for 24 inches…
it’s still kinda expensive for a monitor $209, I coult buy a lot of monitor with a different brnad that has the same resolution and get it for a much cheaper price.

Jim Reppond,
Does the Dell use S-IPS technology? If you move around in front of the monitor do the colors change? If it’s a TN technology monitor, the answer is YES, of course, and at that price, it is definitely TN not S-IPS. If you are editing movies and photos, the Apple monitor IS that much better.
If you are sitting in your office playing WoW when you should be working, then the Dell should be fine for you.
I think yer tie is too tight dude…it’s cutting off the blood supply to your brain.
I’m buying one of these monitors, but do I think there’s a reason Apple’s cost more, yeah I do. I’m also pretty sure Jim spent 0 seconds trying to find out what those differences are.
My current monitor died on me a few weeks back and it’s only 22 inches. I paid the same price for it way back when as the 24 inch now. I think I’ll bite even if the coupon code doesn’t work.
I have this monitor in my office. It looks magnificent and at 200$ it is PERFECT. I recommend this monitor.
Unfortunately, this model is not the UltraSharp model – which offers a much better picture quality. BUT, if you’re simply writing, surfing, etc. this is a great bargain.
Very nice deal…as mentioned, the UltraSharp is better, but 24″ for $200 is pretty amazing.
I’m with Ken. If I wanted to know about these kind of deals I’d go to Slickdeals. This is just more noise in TC news.
no 1200p on a 24″… how disappointing :(
I bought the 22 inch UltraSharp, and I returned it. I even ate up on the 15% restocking fee. Colors were neon. Way too bright. This one is probably better than UltraSharp. This is the best monitor, bang for buck:

And… Ken could have put it more kindly. Criticism is important though. I didn’t think it was an ad when I first saw it. Just a suggestions.
Ken is just pissed cuz Barbie ‘comes’ in a different box.
nice
That’s a sweet deal. Those monitors just keep getting bigger and bigger….
Truth is, If you want the item shipped to California address, then this is not going to be such a deal anymore. After tax and waste disposal fee, it’s probably in the range of $230 – $250, which is the price that typical 24″ monitors command right now.
I usually try to buy this kind of stuff from east coast retailers, or Amazon to avoid that silly disposal fee and tax.
You can use your dell affiliate link to get an additional 4% off this monitor.
Might be good for people with bad eyesight. Big screen and low resolution gives nice zooming effect…
Isn’t Samsung 2233SW better than this one? Can someone who has experienced both these give any feedback?
