If you’ve wanted to buy an iPhone but you’ve said to yourself, “I can only fit 148 application icons across nine home screen pages, which isn’t NEARLY enough for me,” then prepare to reconsider your purchase once the iPhone 3.0 software update hits.
According to a screengrab over on The Loop Blog, you’ll soon be able to fit 180 icons across 11 home screen pages (see the 11 dots in the image to the left).
If this is an April Fools’ Day joke, let me be the first in line to say, “Quit playing games with my heart. It’s not fair.” I have exactly 157 apps that I use all… the… time and to tease me with this wonderment of increased functionality is cruel at best, evil at worst.
In all seriousness, this is far too dumb to be a joke. Who has (and uses regularly) more than 148 apps?

I’d like to see your application list. I am sure I must be missing something. I am only using 2 screens of apps. Can you list them here? I (and others) may be interested in grabbing these apps also.
Doug,
How on earth can you use that many “all the time”? I have about that many, but only use a few constantly. What is your app list?
I actually have less than 20 apps, most of which I use very infrequently.
Actually…I have more than 148, and while I don’t use them all the time, deleting them stinks because you lose your game saves. :|
If Apple introduced a way to save your data after an app’s deletion, it wouldn’t be a problem, but as it is…I like keeping my high scores around.
Hey this is Jonah from The Loop Blog- haha don’t worry, its no April fools joke. If you don’t believe me wait and see for yourself this summer :)
