wm65-themes-mainWindows Mobile 6.5 is right around the corner and the upcoming OS seems to have a similar positive buzz that Windows 7 has earned. Maybe Redmond designers and engineers finally get that us geeks need a stable, but also clean, system. That’s isn’t too much to ask. Anyway, some themes of the upcoming platform have surfaced and we like what we see. A few more themes with a video after the jump.

  • I run WinMo 6.5 now on my Touch and its a vast improvement.

  • Nice Blog. Other Themes on http://www.All4phones.de. Greetings

  • These aren’t themes. This is called, hold it…, wallpapers, or backgrounds, or what have you. But not a theme. I have windows mobile 6.5 on my omnia. It’s ok, I do like the transparent top and bottom bar. Aside from that the only real new things I’m seeing at the current version, are the transparent bars and built in slightly more useful today plugins… I still run M2D though… All in all I would say the improvements made to wm since like wm2003, are all things that should have been patches and should have been released as so within a year from the launch of WM2003. I like windows mobile, don’t get me wrong, it just isn’t going anywhere… Come on, give me something new, really new, not oh look we polished these two things called is a new version so now buy a new phone new. My old dell axim x30 can do nearly everything my omnia can, I just have a better form factor and a phone built in now…

  • Looking very Zune-y. Which is a good thing, since the UI is the very best thing about the Zune.
