For those few that think that in 2009 you have to have a computer/netbook/__book with only 4GB of storage and 1GB or less of RAM - get over it. If this was 2002 or before, maybe.

OK - so maybe all YOU do is browse the Internet and use the cloud but there are loads that would rather have a life than waste loads of time doing everything over a slow to super slow link or have a system that can't do nearly enough of everything one needs or wants to do. Good grief.

Every device has its place but don't b-itch about Windows version (fill in the blank) because it might actually use a little HD space and need some RAM to be nicely useful.

Saying a system is only good if it has nearly no RAM or storage is like saying every auto manufacturer should only build Yugo's. No thanks!

This project has enjoyed reports several times on heise.de, which is the German slashdot. Comments are mostly positive, I think this would sell in Germany as well.

Actually I was searching it now because I wanted to know if it's for sale yet. I had forgotten the name of the product and this blog, I know about it from heise.de. After some searching I suddenly remembered the slogan welcome to couch computing and found it at once:-)

With the Dollar being cheap compared with the Euro I'm sure many many Euronauts would snatch one. Me included and I'm a gadget conservative. My phone still has a green display, lol.

This looks like what I'm looking for, in a mobile application. Are there any other products to compare with? When will it be offered to the public, and what will the price range be? Are there going to be offered peripherals?

I'm with you, Jose. This will be a nifty, affordable, portable art tablet for graphic artists if it supports a Wacom pen and can run versions of Painter, illustrator and Photoshop.

If this is based on an atom processor then it should be plently powerful to run Windows 7 (netbooks are a target platform, keyboardless devices are a supported platform), if it *is* open source, as promised, then I doubt it'll before long before people get Win 7 running on it. I just hope it has bluetooth so I can connect my phone for web surfing out and about.
