Yeah, this commercial kinda pisses me off. “The macs are wayyyyyyy more expensive” BULLSHIT! the macbook starts at 999$! they probably looked at those PC’s then the Best buy person showed them Macbook Pro’s or something. It just pisses me off! and if the kid wants to play games, why in the hell is he buying a laptop?!? (oooooh WoW!! OMFG) Oh, and with that laptop, if he gets Blu-Ray disc (let’s assume read only for 100$ but if Read and write is 200, and he gets the HD screen, the computer comes to MORE THAN THE MACBOOK! *rant over*

Did you really say

with a straight face? If by “smooth execution” you mean “smooth window animations,” then you’re absolutely right.

I use a Mac every day at work (only because we have to have one for testing and no one else would take it) and a PC at home. I have so many ridiculous software issues with my MacBook (particularly with AirPort). I have to use an average of about 3 workarounds per day to accomplish everyday work tasks on the Mac as compared to zero on my Windows laptop.

It all boils down to this: I don’t care what you buy. It’s your money to throw away…but it just annoys me when people spout vague, baseless praise for ANY platform.

In all product categories there are better more expensive products and the economical, value for money ones. How is this debate any different? Surely I credit Steve Jobs for making a following out of a product. Apple has invested zillions over the 20 years to build this brand equity.

Question – Does a Mac do the job better than a PC. Consider performance, security, ease of use, choice of softwares, etc.

Answer – I can do all the things I need to do on a PC. So why do I shell out twice as much money for a Mac? Even considering the resale value of Mac, it costs a few hundred dollars more than a PC.
Macs may be more durable but then you will be able to buy another upgraded latest PC for money saved in 3 years.

When we compare products like cars, watches or chocolates, there is always a high end and economical version… only the debate is not so emotional.

I’ve been an avid PC user for years. I decided to try Apple and went with a top of the line MacBook Air (solid state drive and all).

What a ripoff. The MacBook Air is way overpriced and over-hyped. Even if it was 40% cheaper, I still wouldn’t like it. Stick with a PC – I wish I had.

I gave a copy of Ubuntu to a night janitor who could barely figure out how to turn her computer on. She has loved it and has not found a single thing she can’t do with it. Never once has she had to use a command line to do anything either.

Why is it that Microsoft and the PC industry can never come up with any innovations? They are even trying to use Apple’s “I am a Mac” line!! Terrible!! Windows is a giant bug – the fact that they have more market share doesn’t mean they are better – Bible is the most read book ever – that doesn’t mean it is better than Harry Potter!!!
