Oyez, oyez: Buscum Ducis is holding a spring sale and will offer their $300 watches – some of my personal faves – for $220. That is a savings of over $5 million, give or take a few million.
The company is making room for a new model, the BD II, which will kick major butt. The creator, Sven van der Zande, is writing up his experiences as a watchmaker for us so we can learn what it takes to build a watch in a rough economy while facing down every single watchmaker in the world.

It comes in two colors – black and cognac. I had no idea that cognac was a color, just knew it as a drink.
I’m pretty smitten with the idea of going out on a limb and putting something like this out there, as well as the Panerai-esque design, and I’m thinking of ordering one. BUT – the site needs help. When you’re relying solely on your website for distribution you really need to make it a good one: how is anyone expected to buy the thing when there’s only 1 picture up? Had to go to the Facebook page to get a picture of the box and a whopping 2 other angles. Also MIA from the official site: specs, manufacturer information, company info, etc. Don’t count on people digging around Crunchgear and Facebook to get info that you SHOULD have on the site. This is offered as constructive criticism and is not intended as a slight. You’ve got a good product but you need to tell your potential customers about it. FWIW
