UK-based Copalife announced the Stink Free socks today, which they claim fights fungi and bacteria build up so you can wear your socks for weeks at a time with nary a whiff of stank. The ‘science’ behind it is nothing new and is made from a combination of ionic copper and silver. A three-pack costs £9.99/$14 and I’m interested to see if they really work especially when Copalife claims to have successfully tested a pair for two weeks with no smell. Bring it on!

What about allergies though? Any potential chemical product that can problematic for people with sensitive skin?

Wow send a pair my way if you’re looking for a test subject. My feet turn socks into stiff stinking messes in no time.
Horrible idea. It will kill off 99.9% of all the bacteria, leaving the strongest to survive and mutate into something MRSA-like. Ironically, you use these socks long enough, you won’t have to worry about smelly feet as they will have to be amputated to stop the flesh-eating bacteria from killing you. Brilliant.
@Mathieu – the technology is actually amazing for allergies, for example, dust mites cause a lot of allergies. The Copalife technology kills dust mites, it works by stopping them multiply.
Regarding sensitive skin, Copalife uses copper which is know for its healing abilities and by putting any of our textiles in contact with the skin, it will improve things like echsma. It works better than creams because air can get to the area while it is being treated. Creams can stop air getting to teh area being treated.
We are a very Eco based company and we actually ahve a big green story. For example, not only does Copalife help sensitive skin, you do not need to wash products often and also at low temperatures – all helping the environment.
@TheHoldSteady – Copalife kills MRSA and we are running trials at the moment with hospitals in the UK. Copalife kills fungi, bacteria and viruses.
In the case of socks, we only need to kill the bacteria and the fungi to stop the smell and Athletes Foot.
