What is Slacker, incidentally? Per CrunchBase:
Slacker provides a three part music personalization suite, which includes an internet radio, desktop music player and portable music device.
The Slacker Web Player plays songs depending on what you like or dislike. Slacker does not allow users to choose specific songs upon request; instead, it will play songs depending on the user’s voting history. Ideally, the personalized station will become more and more refined to the user’s music preferences. This basic service is free and ad-supported.

Actually, Slacker does let you listen to any song you want on-demand if you subscribe to their premium service (which is a level above the “plus” service).
They don’t seem to be advertising the premium service these days, but the sign-up page is still live: https://store.slacker.com/store/PremiumRadio10.do
This is why I think Slacker is better than Pandora. Because with Slacker Premium, I can listen to a customized station, and if I like a song, I just click the heart button and it adds it to my music library. I can then play that song anytime I want on-demand.

I like Slacker a fair amount more than Pandora, and I specifically like their Slacker standalone player. iPhone/Blackberry clients are nice, but being able to save the radio stuff=dynamite.
