http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d8/Constitution-of-quebec-1775.png

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec#The_Quebec_Act

“In 1774, fearful that the French-speaking population of Quebec (as the colony was called) would side with the rebels of the Thirteen Colonies to the south, the British Parliament passed the Quebec Act giving recognition to French law, Catholic religion and French language in the colony; ”

This isn't 1774, Canada can repeal these devil deals now. It's wrong. The whole premise of most of the charters supporting this are completely wrong. Morally and ethically wrong, as well as technically wrong.

Please speak-ed le English next time, as we the readers are not on an unusually large reservation under a draconian and uneasy atmosphere. thanks. I've said my peace.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charter_of_the_French_Language

Hey Rob, for years the Quebecian government has been granting laws that are against Canadian freedom of speech as defined in section 2 of the charter of rights and freedoms. Granted you don't have the same freedom of speech as our 1rst amendment, but let's not encourage them.

If this were Canada, the Spanish language Walmart in Paramount, California would be closed down by some silly borderline racist laws.

Don't try to make it ok. It's not ok. Hopefully one day all those language laws will be reversed in favor of an absolute freedom of speech, but until that day they should know it's wrong.
