There’s no word on price, but Nintendo is releasing a new lime green DS Lite bundle in the US with Personal Trainer: Cooking on May 3 with a chichi case to match. Yay! I wonder who this bundle is targeted at? Can we please get Virtual Console for the DSi instead of this crap?

What an odd bundle.
You said it…
The fact that Nintendo is still releasing DS Lite bundles makes me think they aren’t serious about supporting the DSi as a platform on this side of the Pacific.
That the DSi Ware shop gets a whopping two apps added to it’s inventory a WEEK is another clue.
I love that do you want to give it away.
dsi, outside of japan, hasn’t been targeted at casual users, yet.
considering its a mothers day/spring bundle aimed at an expanded audience (moms/females, gift to a non gamer) i doubt most people who pick it up would be interested in dsi and its added features. its intended for people who obviously dont own a ds nor probably know what a ds IS.
given this is an entry product, price is important. you cant sell such a bundle with the dsi and have an affordable and attractive entry price. given that the bundle is peddling an interactive cooking book, price entry is very important in selling the idea/package.
as for the dsi ware shop, its wasn’t going to be the iphone app store. look at the pace in which wiiware/vc has been expanded for tea leaves. the service hasn’t even been available a full month. overall its hard to have too much of an opinion of where the service is headed or what it may or may not become.
that said, with what nintendo is expanding wii and ds into in japan should give people an idea of the type of expanded future nintendo sees the services becoming.
It is targeted at older moms-like me! I just got one and loved that color! The cooking app? Not so much. Who knows…maybe I’ll decide I love it after I’ve tried it out, but now I’m thinking perhaps I should have gone with the Zelda bundle.
I love lime green
