We now have it straight from the horse’s mouth: the Windows 7 Release Candidate will be available for public download on May 5th. The Windows 7 beta team reports that they’ve had a feedback report sent to them at the rate of 1 every 15 seconds during the busiest periods. They also indicated that they have actually used this information, and it’s helped to improve some of the more bleeding edge features coming out.
So get your FTP clients ready for May 5th, I’m sure we’ll overload the servers again in our eager rush to see the latest beast shuffling it’s way out of Redmond.

psssttt….you can download it now on a site on a site you would expect to find leaks rather than be a noob and wait for 2 more weeks.
I just wanted to get some clarification, which if I have not to this point participated in the Win7 beta I will be able to use access the RC on May 7th?
Honestly, I don’t know. And the blog post from the Windows 7 team didn’t say. So your guess is as good as mine.
Is there still some bugs in the Windows 7 Release Candidate ? I am looking forward that on 5th May. I will keep updated how it worked.
I cannot wait till the full blown (pay for) release. Have the beta running just perfectly now.
I certainly hope W7 works well. If not I guess I’ll still be using XP Pro in 2020
I’m sure Windows 7 will be much better than vista, I heard Microsoft brought on some Linux programmers to help clean up some of the code in Windows 7. That was their biggest mistake with vista was that they rushed it out and didn’t take the time to bring in outside support as far as figuring out how to get things done with fewer lines of code, which linux has done a good job at, their priority is to have their operating system run as efficiently as possible by trimming the code down to the minimum considering what they want the operating system to do.
Wow, CrunchGear sure has the brightest fanboys of all the tech sites! Kudos!!!!!!! Love u Ben, tim, Cijo!!!!
Windows 7 has to be the best version of Windows I have used so far.
So, details? How is this working out for everybody, besides, “well” ?
