gigapixel

Oh man. You better have nothing planned for the next hour, ’cause this photo is addicting. Gigapixel Photography Inc. composed this 1,000,000,000 pixel image and uploaded it to a web service that allows users to zoom and navigate around. I wonder if all the residents of those apartment buildings, including the building in the middle with the chick halfway up, signed a waiver allowing us freaks peeping-tom access into their lives.

This photo is so much more entertaining than the Obama inauguration pic. The panoramic style lends to a more interesting photo. At least I thinks so. Plus, don’t forget that anyone can create similar pictures with the help of a device from Gigapan and a point ‘n shoot camera. The latest model even supports medium sized DSLRs.

  • That bee has a nose ring!

  • i love vancouver, but man is a lot of the architecture boring. sure there are lots of little futuristic buildings here and there, but overall, it’s bland 70’s concrete projects type communal socialist design. just look at that photo. it looks like one architect designed the whole city. you could cut and paste that a hundred times over and use it in any generic superhero comic book background. they need more distinct buildings to give an identity like the space needle, or transamerica building.

  • I guess it pulled from flickr :( link says page not found?

    Anyone got another link????

  • i cant believe i actually checked… yes there is a girl in her underwear…
btw this would make a great
    find waldo image!!

then again find the girl in her shorts is prop more rewarding :P

next find the girl eating a sandwich…(with an other girl…)

i must say its interesting how empty some apartments look compared to others…

  • The girl in her underwear is near the middle, that’s too easy. Find the guy watching Rocky and win a prize.
