rc1Everybody put on their downloading hats! Windows 7 RC 1 has dropped, a little ahead of schedule even. It had a limited release already, but now it’s free as a bird and waiting for your click.

What’s new? I don’t know, it isn’t finished downloading yet. Why don’t you ask again in the morning?

  • The only thing I don’t like is this:

“The RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Starting on March 1, 2010, your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows will notify you two weeks before the bi-hourly shutdowns start. To avoid interruption, you’ll need to install a non-expired version of Windows before March 1, 2010. ”

Why do they have to shut down your PC every 2 hours? People that don’t read the fine print will be pissed come March.

  • They do that because they do not want people using it for free. They will either buy the full version or change OS. Remember, its microsoft. They dont care.

And yes, people will be pissed off with it. But i will warn before the shutdowns.
