  • Screw em both I chose to grow up and get some.

    • Are you suggesting that Fictional Space movies are for children and/or females? As I assume you mean “get some” testicles…Which makes me wonder why you didn’t have any in the first place. Unless Josh is short for Joshuina…in which case I’d have to ask why you want to “get some” anyway…unless you don’t want to be Joshuina and just Josh.

    • Get some what? Sex? You read techblogs. How is that any worse than enjoying a show/movie series that millions find entertaining? Trek by the way.

    • And I have to reply to this dummy, first of all, there are one hell of a lot of chicks that like Sci-Fi flicks…

How old are you Josh? About 14 wishing he was older or something? You’ve got a lot to learn about what being ‘Grown Up’ means.

Do you watch sports? comedy movies or TV shows? spy films? action and adventure films? If yes to any of these then maybe “you need to grow up so you can get some”….. see how dumb that sounds?

In fact, if you really want to ‘grow up’ Josh, maybe you should never watch TV or a movie again… and only read the news in the newspapers or online – never read entertainment, comics etc…. maybe it’ll make the little man inside you feel all grown up.

    • LMAO, I hadnt found the time to get back on here and omg this is funny yes I am 12 years old and all you old fat basterds should be ashamed that you are picking on an innocent helpless kid. Now leave me alone im gonna go get me some sex.

      • Did you seriously just say that you’re gonna get some sex? You need to go through puberty first, pal. Also, why should any of us be ashamed? We pick on annoying kids on Xbox Live all the time.

  • Star Wars or Star Trek? what a silly question! star trek! star trek! star trek! trekkies rock ;)

  • why cant i choose both?

  • Are you serious…… To go where no man has gone before. TREK BABY

  • Obviously, Star Trek.

Does Star Wars have phasers?, holodecks?, teletransporters? Didn’t think so…

    • Does Star Trek have

      -action?
      -an interesting and compelling plot?
-the sense that I’m not wasting my life watching it?

      Didn’t think so…

      • Does star trek have

-plastic clad wizards who can choke from across the room?
-laser swords that defeat the purpose of lasers altogether?
-laser swordsmen with reflexes fast enough to intercept laser weapon fire?

Oh crap, star trek doesnt expect us to sit though crap that makes no sense. Wheres the fun in that?

      • Yes. Yes it does. I’m surprised you would make those comments regarding action and plot after DS9. I’ll admit the other series didn’t gel together as well from an action and plot perspective – and Voyager was an abortion on film – but Deep Space 9 was pretty badass and had a great plot which actually built on each episode.

    • star trek sucks…..

  • they both suck ass

  • Trek. Far and away Trek. Screw the muppets and awful scripts from Star Wars. Trek’s had its fair share of bad scripts, but nothing like the new Star Wars movies.

  • Star Wars. !!

star trek is just to namby pamby for me every show and movie is filled with a bunch of poofs sitting around trying to figure out a problem. and oh dear if they have to use the weapons its always a lack luster laser beam or maybe a couple torpedoes.
    its quite sad .

star wars on the other hand is more my speed
the only time you see people sitting around trying to solve a problem is because its to late and all hell has broke loose.

but forget the crappy jedi .
star wars to me has always been about the weapons of war. i know i was a young and impressionable kid at the time but the impending doom march of those AT ATs was awe inspiring . and has influenced my taste in weaponry ever since.

  • Trekkies. Thats all I have to say…

  • Buck Rodgers would of kicked both of their asses

  • Star Wars hands down!

  • He said to them, “Give Caesar what belongs to Caesar, give God what belongs to God, and give Me what is Mine.”

    The Gospel of Thomas, 100.

You know, if you want to get biblical about it and such… My opinion is: why hate?

  • Before the Prequels, I would have said Star Wars.

Post prequels, I say Star Trek.

  • They both kinda suck… Unless galactic soap operas are your thing

  • Both. This is comparing apples and oranges.

Star Trek – most main characters are humans from Earth that decided to “Seek out new life and new civilizations”… from there the story of Star Trek begins. The Enterprise is even a ship from Earth.

Star Wars – Has nothing to do with Earth but is set in “A galaxy far, far away”.

Not one damn reason why I should choose one over the other because I like both of them “Damn it Jim!” (to quote Dr. McCoy).

  • BLADE RUNNER rules supreme!

  • easy choice,star wars!

  • Three words.

    Jar. Jar. Binks.

Yeah…you never saw HIM on the Enterprise, did you?!

    Just think of it…

Jar Jar: “Meesa so excited to be meeting you, Captain Pecard!”

Picard: “The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Binks. Now, I must request you step away from my chair. Why don’t you go visit a holodeck, or the airoponics bay, or any place other than my bridge?”

    ——

Jar Jar: “Oooohhhh, meesa thinks we’re in BEEEEEEEGGGGGG trouble.”

    Picard: “Mr. Worf, fire phasers.”

Worf: “Enemy ship is disabled Captain.”

Picard: “Mr. Data, open a hailing frequency. Mr. Binks, might I suggest you visit the toilet and not the bridge the next time we’re in battle?”

    ——

Jar Jar: “Captain Peecard! Captain Peecard! Meesa being captured by the Borg.”

Picard: *sigh* “I must ask that you relea- oh, never mind, you can have him.”

Borg: “Negative. This lifeform is not suitable for assimilation.”

Picard: “Even the Borg don’t want him. Mr. Worf, please escort Mr. Binks to the nearest airlock.”

    Worf: “With pleasure, Captain.”

    • Hahahahahahaha. Best. Comment. Ever. This week.

    • Owned. =) Star Trek may have had the occasional poor script, but not even Wesley Crusher was as horrific a mistake as Jar Jar Binks.

Lucas was even asked by the ILM artists “are you sure about this Binks character?” and he crammed it through. If the designers think you’re on acid, you should probably rethink your character choices.

  • You are forgetting… Babylon 5!!

Nice story arc with lots of hidden details that actually goes somewhere. Your view of the universe widens as the story progresses. As I recall most of the technology was very plausible.

  • wars.

    lightsabre.

    hell yez

    • Yeah lightsabers are awesome! Maybe when technology progresses they with come up with a lightbow! You know like a laser bow and arrow. That way you could kill from more than 3 feet away! Or maybe a laser rock you could throw at somebody’s face! And laser knives! The possibilities of awesome star wars tech is endless!

      • You mean like a Wookie bowcaster? Yeah the Wars weapons beat the Trek weapons any day. But Trek has the transporter.

I might want a transporter more than I want a lightsaber. Tough choice though. I mean… if I gotta slice and dice my way through an army of clones the lightsaber wins hands-down! But in this day and age I think it would probably just hang over the mantle until it was time to impress the friends by slicing through inanimate objects.

But a transporter? Man I would use that every day! No more lengthy commutes. No more airline fees, delayed flights, or lost baggage (assuming the transporter is more reliable than the one on the original series). I’d be able to visit distant family, friends, and travel destinations all on a whim.

  • I can hear the zits popping just reading these responses.

  • I think the news Star Trek rocked. From the previews I could tell it would not be as what I describe as conservative sci-fi. Trekkie’s don’t take offense. I think Star Trek is cool. The TV series don’t do it for me. The Wrath of Khan was one of the best movies I ever saw. I am a Star Wars Head since I can remember. I love Star Wars. The Prequels were OK to me, the had good portions not the greatest films. This new Star Trek Movie was a coming out party for Trekkie’s, they kind of broke one of the sacred Sci-fi rules but I don’t care. I don’t compare the two really because it’s two different types of Sagas. Star Wars is just really constant conflict on many fronts. It’s more like the beginning of America. Star Trek is more Like America in it’s Current stages with politics and media and negotiations, and laws. None of you care anyway it’s like the Yanks vs the Sox to you.

    • America has negotiates with other countries. I thought they just sent teenagers with monkey IQs to torture and photograph them naked and then call it liberation.

  • Starwars !

You can’t compare these two. Star Trek is science fiction. Star Wars a fantasystory (like fairytale such as LOTR or Harry Potter).
BTW just read the book ‘ Physics of the Impossible: A Scientific Exploration into the World of Phasers, Force Fields, Teleportation, and Time Travel’ from Michio Kaku. In this you can find what special things (like lightsabers or forcefields) will be possible in future.

But then again, being an 41 yr old father of two and Headmaster of a school for special needs: I do have 2 lightsabers (Master Replica’s) and a tailor cut exact replica of a Jedisuit (including boots, belt and all the silly things)…so what I am talking about…..def. Star Wars!

  • If i need to chose a space opera, I chose Battlestar Galactica. It easilly beats both star wars and star trek. Great space battles, lots of action, high drama, characters you care about and a very compelling story.

Star Trek is way too clean to be in space, they even have tea time! (Picard & Earl Grey Tea) and Star Wars is goofy.

  • STAR WARS RULEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think this sums it all up very well
    star trek = star wars

  • I coudn’t really decide. Up until before I saw the Star Trek Movie, I was a Star Wars person. But I only saw the first 2 that came out. They were kind of boring though. And star Trek the original series doesnt have that much action, not boring, but 4 more of a mystery type of person. Bad effects too. But the storyline of Star trek beats Star Wars all the way. Star wars had tons of slow parts to.
And there are a lot of things that irk me about Star Wars too. Like Anikin Skywalker, my fav character! I hated how he died in the ending. But Star Trek (movie/series) didn’t so. yea. Cant decide.
Oh and star trek the movie had TONS of hotties. Some were cute in Star wars, they certainly had uglies. Leila.
Oh and Star Wars is getting trashed with its animated films, and series. They are a snore, and doesnt have that underlying seriousness that it used to have. The main character is a little snot I must say also. but I like both so w.e.
Somethings might be boring to me alittle more cus im only 14. but that’s my opinon lol.

  • I just got back home after seeing the new Star Trek, with low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised, and left the theater thinking that this is what happens when fresh blood gets a hold of a franchise. Lucas is tired. Has been for the last three films. Of course nothing can match the first three Star Wars, but the last three were real stinker cash grabs, while Star Trek sets out to and succeeds at being entertaining.

    Star Trek.

  • You are all wrong because Doctor Who owns all this other shit.
