There’s far too much netbook-related news today and in the interest of keeping this site from turning into CruntBook.com, here’s a bunch of netbook news presented in an easily digestable format. Please enjoy with my compliments.
- Hey, did you know that a recent update to Apple’s OS X might be reponsible for a pretty major boost in battery life for Hackintosh netbooks? Up to 33% says Wired!
- Head for the hills! Register Hardware reports that netbook demand dropped 26% last quarter. My ass, Reg Hardware! Netbooks are everywhere!
- Apparently Gateway has a netbook. Who knew? I sure didn’t. You can get a refurbished one for $239 from Buy.com if you’re interested. Acer owns Gateway and, as such, Gateway’s netbook looks kind of like an Acer netbook.
- GottaBeMobile.com has a hands-on video with Lenovo’s new IdeaPad S10-2 netbook. Long story short: the specs are similar to the original S10, but the look is different.
- Verizon will be selling the HP Mini 1151NR netbook for $200 after a $50 mail-in rebate and one of two wildly overpriced two-year service plans at $40/month for 250MB of data or $60/month for 5GB of data.
- The Asus Eee PC 1008HA will cost $429 and will ship to the US on Monday, the 18th. It looks very slim and light!
- You can get the MSI Wind U90 for just $194.99 from ZipZoomFly.com — but it’s out of stock! Keep an eye out for more of them! [via Obsessable]
- Toshiba is releasing a netbook! Only in Korea, though. Thanks, Toshiba — our country is too full of netbooks right now!
- MSI totally dished on its new X400 and X600 ULV laptops. Maybe they’re not even netbooks!
- And in case you missed them, here’s a post about the Samsung N310 and a post about the MSI U200 if you’re interested.

I’d like to say that I misread CruntBook as something completely different. Maybe that is just my mind being in the gutter. =P
haha thats how i read it in my head to. And yes there is way too many netbooks in the market place right now. I remember when i had to be the first to pick up my EEE the day it came out. And now look what has happened. I get one thrown in my face every time I look at the web.
I like this! You should do this once a day!
Not fair, if it were dozens of Apple Netbook stories they’d each get their own page.
Hey Doug, this is a great antidote to the flood of tech news. It’s just so hard to keep up!
