The only reason why the government supported GM so much is because GM is so damn intertwined with this countries infrastructure that if it drop out of the market totally, this economy would fail.

Ford did test this feature but it didn't go over so well with the middle east customer they dubbed the system the"Anti IED Americans laugh at me" because they would have a bomb in the car and they would be speeding towarda American troops and before they hit the car would stop itself and the troops would laugh at them BUT FORD didn't want to lose customers.

After a few years the car will most likely have so many sensor problems it will cost a FORTUNE to repair. Ford is notorious for bad sensors and high cost to repair them, not to mention diagnosing the correct sensor and locating of it, then you will need a special tool to replace it. I am a Computer Technician and a former Ford owner as well as an experienced auto mechanic. I can tell you mechanics and electronics don't mix well, especially after a few years of weatherization and jostling.

I like this form of advertising. Entertaining, information. Not obtrusive. I'm liking ford a little more each day.

Why not apply the brakes for you? What's the point if the car senses impending doom and full-frontal collision if it won't at least start applying the brakes for you to help reduce the 1/2 second response time or even stop you completely?

I think the Mercedes have that?

I have a feeling the Ford lawyers put the kabosh on this one so they would rather let people die than sue them for not stopping if the auto-brake failed to work as advertised.
