Well, it’s not the news we were expecting but it looks like Best Buy will be getting a new PS3 bundle a week after E3. Already in the BB database is a limited edition 80GB PlayStation 3 bundle that includes two yet to be announced games.
While we all expect a price drop at some point this year from Sony I doubt this is it. Set for a June 9th release, the new bundle will retail for $399, which is what the system currently costs sans games. Let’s not jump to any conclusions, but Sony could be doing away with stand alone SKUs and just offering a bundle or they could just be dropping the price of a “bare bones” bundle as Joystiq suggests.
In any case, we’ll be in LA next week at E3 where we hope Sony does right by the consumer.

Peter son I want to point something out. Everyone including my sweet old grandmother who lives in a third world country wants the PS3 price to drop. I am going to tell you what I told my sweet old grandma, the price will drop however, currently consider the free game or two plus additional controller many different vendors offer with purchase the unofficial price drop. Look at a frys ad buy an 80GB PS3 get one free blue ray movie and an additional DS3 controller. That alone is at least work $80 or so sometimes they go as far as offering 2 free games and a controller granted the games might blow that is still in a way a price drop unofficially. so I need you and my grandma to get off of SONY’s back PRONTO okay meng!

I wouldn’t mind paying the 399 for the PS3, the price alone for the bluray player is worth it since it includes a video game console AND a bluray player. I just want it to play ps2 games!
That is correcto my fair lady (not the z fairlady for the car buffs).
I sometimes regret paying $600 for the 60GB on release date but I do enjoy all of the extras that it has. I already had one die on me though and I paid sony royally to get it replaced. Sucks but thus is life.

love my $599 ps3 in my 65 mitsu tv. I use it for bluray, ps3 and ps2 games. 399 price is like a dream minuet the ps2 play
Hey guys i just went buy a new tv for my room and asked some1 about the new PS3 bundle. Well the guy went and called a manager which he confirmed the new bundle and told me he is not aloud to tell me more about it. So i told him i will only buy the TV if i was told more details. If it is true or not i cant promise, but he said all he will let me know is that it will contain Final Fantasy. SO come Thusday i will prob be at BB and get me a PS3. My gf finaly permitted me to but it^^

that is incorrect its end of 2009 FF XIV is scheduled for 2010. And by the way the best buy sheet that you see here is fake. It really did exist but with a release date of 20/5 if you dont believe take the item nymber to any local best buy store and let them pull it up. It is in the system though no1 has any idea what that is. But there was a bundle offer for the 80 gb by game stop in which you received the blue ray copy of advents children with your purches anyhow. No where in my first comment did i mention FF XIII. Anyway thx for answer.
