It’s the rumor that refuses to go away: the next Sony PSP. Well, E3 is next week, thank God, and you should absolutely expect to see it, henceforth referred to as the PSP Go!, debut at Sony’s press conference. It will be UMD-less (you can hear developers cheering), and possibly cheaper. That, and the slimmed down PS3 is real, too.
How do we know this? The same source that tipped off World Famous Ars Technica about the existence of a Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 bundle and the Fable II +Halo 3 bundle—the source has a proven track record. Plus, it corroborates what Dave Perry, of Earthworm Jim fame, said earlier this year.
And I sincerely hope that, at launch, PSP Go! is cheaper than the current PSP. My guess is that getting rid of the UMD drive will contribute quite a bit to a lower production cost.
As for the slimmer PS3, this same source says, yes, it’s real, and it’s only a matter of time. Apparently Sony wants to spend the summer months clearing store shelves of PS3s, and, once August or September comes around, will release the slimmer one then. This slim PS3 won’t be announced at E3: who would buy a PS3 in June when they know, for sure, that a newer one will be released two months later?

I can’t say that im happy about the idea of a DD-only game system, I purchase many used games or new games on sale at a single store, with a DD-only system I would be forced to pay full price for every game and only be able to purchase them from PSN. Not to mention I wouldn’t be able to sell them either.
I know I might get some flack for making an anti-hack comment, so I’d like to say that i have a custom firmwared PSP.
Anyway, this still doesn’t address the hacked PSP’s situation. Actually it will probably only make not having to every buy a PSP game again easier
