The Palm Pre’s ringtone has leaked. You can listen to it now, perhaps even assign it to your iPhone 3G if you’re feeling adventurous.
The ringtone announces the triumphant return of Palm, a warrior come home after years toiling in obscurity, mud and blood on its proud blade. But time has aged the warrior mightily; new men—popular, if flashy—have stepped in to fill the void he left so many years ago.
No matter. Ring the bells, gather the children! Palm is here!
Palm is here. Yes, it’s true. Doubters will silenced, upstarts put in their place. Palm is here.
One if by land, two if by sea: Palm is here.
We hold these truths to be self-evident: Palm is here.
Give me your tired, your huddled masses: Palm is here.
Tame the savageness of man, and make gentle the life of this world: Palm is here.
Come, let us honor this, our great hope of salvation.

I tend to agree that the Pre will be a big hit. I think Palm has the name behind it really push this thing into something big. It may never overtake the iPhone but these new WebOS palm devices are definitely going to get a portion of the market.
That being said that ringtone blows….
That ringtone is -super- annoying.
I tend to agree, I really do think this phone will be a hit. It may not exceed the iPhone following as that is a tough nut to crack, but I could definitely see WebOS becoming a real contender in the smartphone market. It is a pretty solid combination of the key things people want in a phone including the fact that it is a bit of a status symbol.
All that being said, that ringtone is terrible.
I had my girlfriend listen to the ringtone and she didn’t like it, she thought it was too busy. I on the other hand enjoy it (but it could just be because I’m slowly falling in love with the Pre).
That is possibly the worst ringtone I have ever heard! I have a hard time believing that’s real considering how much money/effort they’re putting into this.
Me likesit.
It really sucks. I am changing it right when I get mine.
derr
I really don’t like the default ringtone, i agree that its way too busy. But you can change them using your MP3 music files and downloading them to the device.
