I had a hard time deciding which console to buy and my decision was made by the simple fact that I wanted one that was more reliable. The Xbox 360 has some great games and I’d love to own both, but if you look at 2009 the ps3 is kicking ass in exclusives… I think we are all getting tired of halo. Halo 1 was a good game but they have been going downhill since. I love left 4 dead and fable, but the titles on ps3 such as uncharted2, infamous, and so on are MIND BLOWING! Also, I must agree with everybody else on here that says the ps3 gives you so much more! You don’t have to pay for batteries, wifi, blu-ray, free online gaming, and did i mention its comforting playing a game not worrying if my disc will scratch or if i’ll get the rrod?
Just my preference. Like i said, I enjoy them both, but I lean towards the ps3

Can’t wait until I get my PS3, although I will admit, I’m waiting for GT5 before I buy one. Not because that’s all the PS3 is good for, it’s because I’m an original GT Gold Junkie.. if you know who we are you’ll know why I’m waiting (it’ll be all I play for months and months.. you get the picture.)

I did want to leave a long, detailed review, but as I don’t own a PS3, I feel I wouldn’t be able to do it the justice I’m confident it deserves. I can on the other hand slate the xBox, it’s not worth the money you eventually spend to get it to a worthy state, and even then it’ll probably have died before you’ve purchased the necessary add-ons. Just spend that money on a mid-range gaming PC, if you really must play PC-esque type games.

PS. LMAO @ Forsa.. oh dear. My little Bro has a 360, what a noisy bit of junk. 10 Fans on my gaming PC make far less noise.

The PS3 is far superior to the 360 in my opinion and also I’m not a person who plays a lot of video games so why would I buy a console that has a whole bunch of games that I quite frankly don’t find interesting at all. I prefer to play well made quality games that had time put into them and are not rushed out like so many 360 games, even if they aren’t rushed out there really isn’t that much you can put into one where there is limited capabilities. There’s my two cents lets see the numerous arguments I have coming to me. Muahahaha!!!

i’m sick of people separating games and blue-ray in their comments, the point of having blue-ray in every console is for the games. alot of developers have taken advantage and put over 50 gb of game data into our exclusives. plus ps3’s cell processor is made of 6 processors (twice as many as 360) and are capable of being used as extra graphics processors as well as computing. if you really wanted to see your favorite games get better, faster, you would of gave a very powerful machine and a big jump in technology the support it deserved. and if anyone isn’t into gaming, ps3 makes a great computer. you can install your favorite operating system but if you want to get full use out of its power I suggest lynix yellow dog.

Not to burst your bubble Timothy but we didn’t lose MGS to Microsoft. You just have MG: Rising, and that doesn’t count as Kojima did say he would be making games for the 360 AFTER MGS4!

Secondly, if Microsoft had great exclusives, THEY WOULDN’T BE BUYING OUT FROM OURS WON’T THEY? Cause they know, GTA4 and FFXIII will put Halo and Gears of War to shame if it came on the PS3. So the more PS3 lose exclusives to Microsoft, the more Microsoft is TELLING YOU they can’t provide you their own!

But of course I’m not with one to recognize great exclusives from the 360 either, I am buying a 360 for: Project Natal, Splinter Cell, Forza 3 and ALAN WAKE (my most anticipated one).

I workfor a electronic company, i sell lots of xb360 and ps3. The majority of defect we get back are from the xb360. i been at this company for 5 years and i seen more xbox360 console coming in to get fix then the PS3. I tell peoples the main different between ps3 and xb360 is at the moment xb360 got the best online play then the P3. I own a PS3 and i love it. If someone don’twantt o play online that much then to me it better to go with a PS3. you would be wasting your $50 a years for the subscriptin. I don’t have time to played games. Like other peoples does. The reason i chose the PS3 is because i never see them coming back for return or repair as xbox 360. Even with the new chipset we still got customer coming in to send there xb360 to repair. According to my sony rep in the store, Sony coming out with a new 10 layers Blue ray discs and all you have to do is the firmware update and also a 1TB Hard drive. So let see in about 3 years when sony begin having game on a 10 layers disc the game. The new xbox that will be out will be a dinosaur. MS ripped off Nintendo for ther avatar on line communitites. While sony used Sims type characters that look like peoples.
I say Sony Consoles will alway be better then anything Microsoft come out with. MS rule the Age of Empire games with AGE of Empire 3. I was very disappointed in the game. There was no challenger in the game. If you run out of resourcves you can get them from your home port. The original AOE games were more challenging if you run out of resources you have to find some to make your self stonger

I bought a PS3 for Metal Gear Solid 4 right before its release, never bothered with a 360 cause actually I’m not a console gamer.

You didn’t mention that in the article, there ARE a lot of exclusives which are worth getting a system, especially if they’re as unique as MGS.

2009 is a great year for consoles and a big leap for Sony. So far the PS3 has been scrutinized for having no games and poorly developed exclusives. Now since after MGS4, many other exclusives that follow are gaining excellent ratings. PS3 games will take awhile to get but in the end it’s all worth it.

Actually it’s more of viewing the update before reading your comments. Before Square announced the FFXIV wasn’t being considered an exclusive I would’ve totally agreed with you and that’s why I commented otherwise.

this guy has a bit of a point, but wine early this year ps3 has been spitting out exclusives like crazy:killzone 2, resistance 2, infamous, little big planet, and soon heavy rain. ps3 is going to xbox360 the way ps2 did xbox.
