Is this the new iPhone? Maybe. Maybe not. We’ll find out on Monday. One thing is for sure though. These pics do show a different iPhone with a small button on the bottom right, and the headphone jack possibly relocated to the bottom of the phone. Thoughts?

At this point, does it really matter if the actually hardware changes significantly? Look? size? It is really all about the OS at this point, a change to the device design and look would be largely for the sake of it.
at this point all i care for is video!!
Apple can make the whole phone light up.. text all the thugs in the area with a gps reading of my location for all i care!!
This is what I’m hoping for…

Although with a bit less chrome around the edges, please. However, they have no light up logo as far as I can tell, so… Hmm. But there does seem to be a line right above the “iPhone”, so maybe they are real and this is just a black version? That last one in the pic I posted looks all black too. Very slightly glossy on the bottom and matte up top… just like the picture you guys posted.
Thoughts?
That logo looks more like its reflecting a flash than a backlit glow now that I think about it, especially when the “iPhone” is doing the same thing. In the color concept photo’s, the “iPhone” looks shiny and reflective too.
However, in your photo the top button is on the left side and there isn’t nearly as much edging. But maybe the color pictures were early models and this one is a finished one? They could of easily thought that the huge chrome trim was too much and revised it, and then decided to switch up the switch placement while they were at it.
The space above and below the screen on your picture is larger than the ones that I posted as well. Not sure if that means anything though as my picture looks strictly concept photo and not actual product.
In any case i’m guessing it will be the most boring upgrade ever. When apple finds something that works they stick to it forever, just like with the ipods
Don’t fix that which isn’t broken? Just stick with it and improve it over time? Makes sense to me. :)
And cost effective as well – it’s all about the Benjamins
Unless asymmetry is a new design feature of the iPhone, I’d say this is a Photoshop fake.
That’s not a screenshot of OS 3.0. The 3G logo is really old, and the 3.0 sms icon is labeled as “Messages” and the “SMS” text isn’t inside the bubble. Why would there be new hardware on old software.
The front of the phone looks like the old ipod touch.
Looks real.
The new button on the side must be the camera shutter. Makes sence ’cause the on-screen button is awkward to use.
It looks more like they flipped the phone upside down. The little button on the side looks like the silence switch, looking at the rightmost picture, it looks as if the bottom left corner of this render is the same as the upper left corner of the older iphone (ie silence and headphone jack are there)
We’ll see.
The middle picture is not running iphone os 3.0, and looks like it’s an iPod touch. Crunchgear, you are morons for believing this crap. Get a reporter that’s actually an iPhone user to write articles about the iPhone next time.
The iPhone video will probably look like this:

From what I’ve seen of the front bezel a week or so ago, the front would seem to appear like this. The bezel had a cutout section at the bottom to accomodate some sort of rocker or press switch, although it doesn’t make sense to me to have a moving part. Maybe it only looks like it could rock, but is really just fixed in place as some sort of pressure sensitive surface.
This photo also shows the location of where the front VC camera would be mounted near the top. I hope these photos are the real deal.
Give me a front facing camera (integrated into the diaplay screen) for iChat, turn by turn GPS navigation with voice prompts, a better camera with shake stabilizer that also does motion video… and 3 more units will be sold on Monday!
HardMac’s story is now missing. I went to Google and recovered the cache image. If the image in HardMac is the new phone I love it!
The viewing screen is much bigger, I can’t see where a camera might be on the viewing side of the iPhone, but if it is the new iPhone I love and want it!
Guess I am a little late on this blog, but I am sure you all know now that those pictures are legitimate. Apple has gone and out-done themselves again and the iPhone was recently awarded top phone by JD Power.
