This is really beyond belief. Now, I know ROM hackers have put together self-playing levels, but none of them have actually put together an abstract film starring everyone’s favorite Italian plumber. And while it certainly is strange, it’s really no stranger than the original when you think about it.

Hmm, actually, it’s quite a bit stranger. Is it any good? I really couldn’t say. I think it’s art.

It’s split into three YouTube videos here; you can watch it in one video at the creator’s site, or you can download the ROM and run it in your favorite NES emulator. Or you could buy the cartridge for, say, $20,000 and play it on a real console.
