i live just outside of sacramento and i have tried everything. dtv sucks.it sucks for everyone around here. theres nothing you can do for it,but get on cable or satellite. thanks a lot for a big hassle and having to spend extra money at a time i don't have it and still lousy reception if any at all. all you did was help the cable industry big time at our expence. thanks for nothing.

That's right. Unless you can find a VCR that allows you to tune DTV then you are limited to one channel without changing it manually.

Yes, you sure can. Put the antenna wire on the DTV box then to the VCR then to the tv. You will need to set the VCR to the same channel the DTV box is set to send to like 3 or 4 then whatever channel the DTV box is on will be recorded. You won't be able to program the VCR to a certain channel but this will work, just make sure you leave it on the channel you need recorded.

I tried for months to buy the DTVpal by Dish Network, even trying twice to order it online and not getting it after I thought the order went through. After a couple of long calls to Dish Net customer service, I was told I could NOT get the DTVpal online, as offered on the company's website, but could buy it at a Dish Network retailer, none of which exist in my area. This runaround hacked me off since I am a Dish Network subscriber, heard good things about the converter box and wanted compatible equipment. Anyway, good luck finding a DTVpal.

I don't know what your situation would be but I have a nice setup, nothing is name brand, but it's nice. I use an "ANT-3045" search for it on e-bay you'll find it... it's pretty small and picks up vhf and uhf, mines in the attic, but I suppose you could put it on a deck or in a closet or something. Also the DTV box is a really important thing, I tried a Phillips, RCA and a few others all stunk then I tried a "Channel Master CM7000" Google it you'll find it. With all this off-brand stuff I would recommend getting a learning remote like the "Sony RM-VL600" but this is not a requirement I just don't like fumbling all those remotes around. I originally had cable then I noticed with a little investment I could have free tv and it paid off quick... I love my 22 free HD channels!
