Is Sony even trying to keep a wrap on things anymore?

Honestly, as a Sony Walkman phone owner myself, I love the OS they have on there now. I recently switched to Symbian on a Nokia smart phone, and while its OK, it can be extremely frustrating to use after having a SE phone for so long. I honestly think SE makes a far superior OS to Symbian.

While I haven't used Android, I wonder what the benefit is to the consumer to make the switch. Other than the myriad apps you'll gain access to, does the OS really work any better? Because nothing I've ever used has been as simple and intuitive - and feature rich (for a simple phone) - as the OS on SE phones now.
