Although this is a step in the right direction, they are using antiquated biogas technology that requires more input substrates in order to get a certain output. They should be looking at a newer technology which will help them save money from the beginning. Also the older biogas plants are not very stable.

Yes, flint has been hard hit by this downtrend, but the SBI project is hardly a panacea. The $4 Million MEDC grant and the roughly $2 Million in Federal money will provide for exactly ONE job - the local President. All the other work will be done by existing City of Flint employees at the plant. Also, if you listened closely to the latest remarks, the construction is to begin this fall with completion being hoped for next summer. I wish them well, and hope that they really do have plans that would bring employment and revenue to the Flint area.

Gotta love Genesee County. They've been at the forefront of the automotive stuff from the beginning.

Perhaps one day they'll be at the forefront of biogas possibilities.

Hmm, Im pretty sure Flint wasn't hit the hardest. Especially given the fact they have been in the crapper for decades.
