I actually didn’t know I would be on the screen the whole time. But thanks to Randall for the opportunity!

  • wow. gotta completely disagree. i’ve used the palm pre. i’m waiting till i can use my discount to get one. i have friends that have them. It’s an amazing phone.

the iphone is ok and it will alway have people that will only buy apple stuff but lots of the people i know have to work with their phone so they use blackberries but an iphone to them is and ipod that you can make calls on. That’s it.

The Palm fills is a happy medium. And as an OS it pretty much kills iphone. No to mention i’ve heard lots of issues about bad AT&T call quality and service so that’s an issue possibly offset by Sprints bad reputation. But i think you’re missing the positive feedback from a lot of people.

  • remind me to watch this when I’m having trouble sleeping…

  • Both of you guy’s were pretty much spot on the entire video.

The Pre gives me a “too little, too late” kind of feeling. I think it has the potential to take off, but I can’t say for sure whether I think it will or not. Though the hype alone I think it could end up being the iPhone’s competitor, but I don’t really know.

The iPhone is so far ahead in the game that its kind of just like “meh” when it comes to everything else.

  • Good interview. Though I would have to agree with Jason Hiner’s replies more then CrunchGear. Like he said, the data plans today are way too expensive. Once these kids get out on their own and start paying for multiple bills, mortgage, etc; those $80/mo bills start looking steep. I hope Jason is correct about the market saturation bringing the prices down; because the carriers don’t seem to being moving that way on their own.

I was surprized to not hear either of you bring up the Android platform. In my opinion the proprietary markets like Apple and Pre are eventually going to become unpopular. That is when Android will start growing. I wish Google would start pushing the proprietary issue in its marketting. The openess of the Android platform is its best selling point. Though, many consumers do not realize that is the basis of the entire platform.

  • “I wouldn’t wish the Pre on my worst enemy”… are you sh*tting me? ha… the pre ROCKS. It’s only out of the gate and IMO better than the iPhone already – which has been out for a while now.

P.S- John you look like you hate your life and seem bored out of your mind. Slap yourself awake please.
