Speaking as someone who has helped to design a lot of sports mascot costumes and yes, admittedly, fursuits I can tell you that ice packs against your body are a bad idea.

They create discrete thermal zones so that your body is constantly fighting to regulate your temperature, resulting in dehydration and, if worn long enough, pneumonia.

It just goes to show you, just because something is for sale doesn’t mean it’s safe in Japan.
