These instructions are pretty weird, but here goes. Bing has a 35% off offer for AT&T and to get it you need to go to the AT&T site and register under the “premier” moniker. Then go to Bing and search for ATT wireless. Notice the 35% off ad at the top.
Get a Cashback account, go back to AT&T, login to the Premiere service, and pick up your 35% off. This is only for new contracts. If you’re not a new customer, just do all that but don’t worry about the Premiere stuff.
Apparently it’s best done in IE. Let me know if it works.

You’re making it more difficult than it has to be. Just go to http://bing.com. Search for ATT Wireless. Click the ad that mentions 35% off. Follow Microsoft’s instructions. Go to the regular AT&T website and buy the phone. Done.
The Premier portion is unneeded. It is for corporate discounts and can be added later. Does not affect the 35% discount.
Hi…I am trying to take advantage of the bing offer of 35% off to get an iphone but I can’t find it anywhere. Does the offer still exist? Help!
Scott—
Scott-
I just tried and it doesn’t seem to be available anymore. I think it may have gotten publicised too well and at&t and Microsoft were giving away too much money.

Hi ,
Did anyone try this. Please make a more detailed way of getting this 35 % off
Sorta kinda works- AT&T being ass-backwards and all.
On their Premier site (which I have through work) 2 problems.
It does let me order a Family plan with 2 iPhones (their regular site only lets you do one iPhone.)
Two issues though-
I am porting two numbers over from Sprint. There’s only a way of indicating one number (when you start on the very first screen and no option afterward.)
Second problem is that for some reason, they do not have the iPhone Family Unlimted text messaging option (yet they do on their regular site or at least doing it through Apple’s site.)
Now I have to figure out how to get what I am supposed to get and stillget the 35% from Bing because I have a feeling I won’t be able to this online since AT&T obviously doesn’t know what they are doing.
Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.
i know nothing about the “premier” registering part, but i know 2 people who just went through Bing and ordered them. the iPhones are on their way, and they have the cashback sitting in their Bing account. you have to wait 60 days to “cash out”.
one guy even ordered two.
I had to use the Premier to be able to order 2 iPhones on the Family Plan since the regualr site only allows 1. My cashback account shows $0. Should I really wait the 48 hours to see it or should I do something now?
How did you get it to carry the bing cash back on to the premier page? I am eligible and can get to the premier page but it does not carry the bing cash back logo or url string.
It doesn’t show the logo specifically on the Premier page. I actually copied and replaced part of the URL string immediately prececeeding the “search partner id” part.
Here’s a link to Gizmodo article giving an easier way:

Has the money showed up in your Bing cashback accounts yet?

Does anybody knows if it works “upgrading” the current iPhone 3G at ATT’s website? I would have to pay $499 for the new 3GS.
Thanks for your answers.
Gus
When I first read about this last night, it only applied to new AT&T customers, but I am not 100% certain. Read the comments here – http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/06/19/want-a-super-cheap-iphone-3g-s-bing-it/

Just tried it. Haven’t received the bing email yet, so I’ll be returning it if it doesn’t work.
Just tried it as well.
During the online ordering process, AT&T states that it wont charge the CC you provided until the order actually ships out (standard practice) and that accessories may ship sooner than the iPhone itself. After I was done filling my ‘cart’ with a black, 32gb, iPhone 3GS and proceeded further, a disclaimer appeared stating that the iPhone3GS may not ship for 7-14 days after the order is placed. This begs the question – will the BING cashback funds (or the BING email confirmation, for that matter) only appear once your order is ready to ship (and your CC is charged) or ?
After I got the AT&T order confirmation email, I checked my bank balance online and AT&T did ‘charge’ or placed a ‘temp hold’ for the amount of $1.00 USD to see if my CC was valid, I guess.
Here’s the actual text from the AT&T site ‘pop-up’/disclaimer I mentioned above –
“Orders for iPhone 3GS will ship 7 to 14 days after your order is placed. Please note that orders are currently shipped on a first-come, first-served basis.
The actual shipment date and receipt of your order is not guaranteed and may be subject to delays for reasons that include, but are not limited to, product availability, inventory, credit issues, number porting or carrier delays, and completion of other required AT&T business processes.
Additional items added to the cart at the time of your iPhone 3G S order may ship separately depending on availability. Your credit card will not be charged until items are shipped.”
If anyone is still checking this thread- just filed my support request on bing.com cashback account. I made the AT&T order on Friday and still nothing in cashback account.
When I clciked on the link that I have waited at least 2 days, the page that comes up with the form has a disclaimer on top that if the request has to do with the 35% AT&T offer, to include order number and they are working on looking into the situation.
Apparently, others have complained and something with the process is FUBAR.
Let’s hope they resolve it quickly- it’s the only reason I ordered online and was willing to wait up to 2 weeks.

We have just recieved information from AT&T that has indicated to us that purchases from http://www.premier.att.com store are not eligible to earn cashback. Once again, we are sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment you have experienced with the cashback program.
Thank you for contacting Bing cashback Customer Support.

Wow- not happy about that. That’s the only reason I ordered online instead having 2 iPhones in my hot little hand right now. Somehow I had a sneaky suspicion that was going to happen, though, not being eligible through the Premier site.
Now, I have to decide- do I wait to get my answer from Bing or do I just forget it, try to cancel my online order and go to a store? (Of course I’ll call stores firs to see if they have in stock.)
I ordered through Premier and just got response from Bing (I removed order number and the rep’s name):

That’s great news! If I don’t hear back from them in one more day, I will definitely follow up with them.
Thanks stenro! Also, did you get credited for both iPhones or just one?
Right now, just one so I replied to the email to point that out to them. I expect they’ll correct it.
Cool.. I was reading some FAQ about this and it said the refund was only good for one device. Although, you were able to get cash back after using premier, so I’m definitely expecting you to get a refund for both!
I’ll keep you posted if I get a refund for both, one or none. I also ordered two iPhones through premier.
I just got confirm that one of the 2 (Black 16 Gig) just shipped. White 16 Gig hasn’t yet.
They are even sending it next business day before 3pm. Hopefully the 2nd one goes out soon.
So it seems that you are only getting the cash back when it ships?
Not necessarily- I don’t often believe in coincidence, but this time I think it was because there was almost an hour difference between getting notified by Bing and then notice from AT&T. Can’t rule it out, though. Time will tell. To be honest, even if it’s only the $69 back, that covers the 2 activation fees, so it was worth it. I checked earlier at the AT&T store (34th Street and 7th Ave. in Manhattan) and they still have no phones in stock and don’t know when they are getting them in.
Check it- just got this email:
Hi Steve,
Thank you for contacting Bing cashback Customer Support.
I apologize for the oversight regarding your cashback purchases. We have credited the additional $69.65 cashback to your account for the second phone that was purchased. Thank you for your patience.
Have a good day, Steve, and thank you again for contacting Bing cashback Customer Support.

Wow, they were quick in getting this resolved. I’m super impressed! Amazing customer service from Microsoft…I can’t believe I would ever say that! Kudos to them.
I just contacted Bing and supplied them with the necessary information. I hope they give me the cashback for both of my iPhones. Congratulations on getting your cashback processed so quickly!
As a new AT&T customer, I ordered (not via Premier) an iPhone 3GS 32gb on the 21st, and I just got the BING confirmation email today (23rd) for $104.65 CASHBACK! (it’s ‘pending,’ as I must wait 60 days from date of purchase, as expected)
That means -
an iPhone 3GS 32gb for $213.79 delivered!
AT&T is currently ‘holding’ the amount of $318.44 (my initial layout before the BING Cashback).
Not sure if the iPhone will be shipped in the next few days (as I was presented with the aforementioned ‘7-14 day disclaimer’ when I ordered) or maybe they will release the funds and recharge the card once the iPhone is ready to ship.
AT&T has released the $318.44 back to me as of this morning (25th). No status change on my order when I check online. I figure they will charge my CC again once the iPhone 3GS is ready to ship out.
UPDATE: iPhone 3GS 32gb Black
Ordered 6/22 – Shipped 6/26 – Est. arrival 6/29
Received BING ‘Pending’ Cashback email 6/23
They have yet to re-charge my CC at this time…
I’ve chronicled my experience with the process:
http://stevenrlevine.blogspot.com/
I’m impressed that some of you got emails from Bing. I’ve sent 4 emails and posted twice to the Bing forums, and received no contact from a human (I have gotten the auto generated emails) in the last 11 days.
At this point I don’t care if I qualified or not, I just want to talk to a person and get confirmation.
Based on what I’ve read here at lest 1 of the 3 phones I bought should qualify for the rebate. I have all 3 phones now, all of them operational and I’ve even sold the old phones on eBay. But STILL no contact from Bing.
The fact that they have NO PHONE NUMBER is a huge problem, you have no way of actually forcing a person to talk to you.
I received my cash back from Bing but was only eligible for 1 of my iPhones. They said that there is a limit of one per order. Wish you guys all the best. It was a great deal!
I ordered one in June (don’t remember when). Bing needed a little coaxing to cough up the cash but they did reply and were pretty prompt (They sent the emails to my Live account, which I never check anymore, but I figured it out).
There’s a 60 day holding period for any cashback, so I have to wait before I actually see the money.
Unfortunately for many customers they have not been reliable in honoring the cashback requests. Please read more about this at http://digg.com/d1wcdx – When presented with the screenshots and evidence from customers at this Get Satisfaction link, the initial response from Bing Cashback has been to stay silent. With only a few customers posting there so far, this is a good strategy for them if they expect this to go unnoticed. Negative experiences please post your Bing Cashback ticket number so they can help you if they so choose. Positive experiences please post so that it can be documented they have already honored this in some cases, and should do the same for the rest of us. By posting your experiences, you help to hold them to what was advertised and remind them to deal with you in an honest manner in the future. Thank you for your help with this.
