Is that crysis? Pretty good idea, pretty innovative even if arcade did do it first. I'd like to play this on my treadmill. What you really need to make it a good FPS sim is some kind of connection with a treadmill, so when you walk, slow down, speed up, etc these movements are detected in the game. Then I guess you couldn't strafe... Okay the room idea was good.

Well, that's pretty typical. Everything is done in an Arcade and then forgotten and recently is coming back in PC gaming. We've had 2D Side scrolling games for YEARS now in MMORPGs, but it's just now that you're starting to see the first 2.5D side scrolling MMORPGs, which is something many of us were looking forward to for a very long time.

Going past that, I see this as being something more like perhaps a local arcade having their own FPS game room and perhaps then having these setup in a way that you would scout around and shoot both the people in the room and perhaps some virtual baddies as well. Using this in your own house without a room (big enough for it) just seems insane, your house will never link up with the environment of the game.

I'm sure it's immersive, but I can't see it being very popular. First, it's just not going to be able to compete with the speed of desktop gaming rigs with their keyboard/mouse controls. So that makes it unappealing for the serious FPS gamer, to whom you might think this would appeal. Second, the screen really limits being able to observe anyone else playing, which means it's not going to be good for social gaming of any sort. And because it's probably going to be pricey, it certainly won't appeal to casual gamers.

I like the idea of a Head Mounted Projector, but if you've got one of those you really have to have a dedicated room to play in, at which point you'd probably do just as well to get a couple of non-head-mounted projectors, or better yet just a head-mounted display. Maybe it'll be good in an arcade setting or something.
