I just purchased a brand new ipod touch today and paid for the update (only $4.99 with iTunes now), but all i get are repeated errors trying to download and install. Won’t even download… just get error after error after error. Kind of ticks me off a bit since these devices aren’t exactly cheap. $5 for an update isn’t bad, but I paid for the update and would like to actually get what I paid for.

$10 just lost Apple all of my future business. I only had the iPod touch 2G 7 months. Is it unreasonable that they would support it for at least the first full year? They say screw me? I say screw them!

i tried to purchase the update but itunes stole my $12.99 and didnt give me the update. does this work? because technically ive payed for it and i didnt receive what i rightfully payed for.

Anyone know where I can buy an iTunes redeem code? Apple doesn’t want my money because my country is not on their list.

iPhone owners are eligible for the update/upgrade for FREE, due to the way the accounting is handled for the iPhone (as opposed to the Touch)

To be honest having to *pay* to *unlock* features that are already on the hardware you’ve purchased (I’m looking at you bluetooth stereo) is pretty painful and since you’ve invested in the device, you shouldn’t have to pay for this…

I’m a touch owner and have paid for the 3.0 but really feel for iPhone owners who had to pay for MMS and Copy and Paste functionality – that really sucks Apple…

Please, explain why it’s a good idea to pay instead of promoting illegal download.

Please, start a petition so Apple doesn’t charge us for the download instead of promoting illegal download.

If we want more legal, noDRM content on the internet, but we must show that we are responsible and honest first. That kind of post add to the RIAA arguments.

If you think 10$ is to expensive. Write to Apple saying so. Then live with the old version on your ipod. It was working before and still work after. when you won’t be able to bear to “Not Have” the latest coolest options, pay.

I paid my 10$. I know how much work there is behind an update.

Hmmm…..I’m not saying I tried this…..and that it didn’t seem to work…but would there be any issues one would encounter? That is if anyone tried it.

It’s not a good idea to promote licensing and copyright violations… the new OS is copyrighted and users should pay for it!

Anyone who complains about $10 is over-reacting, especially when they probably own thousand+ in computer equipment!
