This model sells in the philippines with a configuration of 1gb Memory , 160 gb Hdd and is priced at around $450. It is overpriced here and they left out the Operating system which comes bundled at other countries at $400. No wonder piracy prevails in the Philippines.

I am impressed with the design of this laptop. The features are also quiet satisfying. The batter life is quiet poor. I like both the colours. The keyboard design is also quiet impressive. Planning to buy one soon.

I bought this netbook about two weeks ago, and let me tell you, it’s completely solid. On average, I pull about 6-7 hours out of a charge and even running vista, it’s incredibley smooth. Only a few times have I noticed it being laggy.

When it really boils down to it, Intel people will go with the atom built netbooks, and AMD followers will realize that 8+ hours on a charge is no good if it can’t do anything useful.

Just my two cents.

Go away troll. Noone wants your crappy atom netbook that can’t even play DVD movies when this gateway netbook with an internal radeon card can play DVD, HDTV, and Blueray movies without a hitch. Not to mention the full keyboard and huge 11.6” screen while still staying at only 3lbs and superslim under 1 inch thick. This is my next computer you are talking about. And I know a thing or 2 about computers.

This thing will smoke all the Intel based netbooks for what you want a netbook to do like play HD movies, play games, watch videos, multitask etc… This ATI video will destroy the the Intel graphics and an Atom at 1.6ghz is actually equal to a celeron at 800mhz.

ThankYou ACER for buying gateway and putting out this perfectly balanced netbook to rule them all.

5 hours battery life on a netbook is not very long, dont think this will sell well being a power hog. battery life needs to be twice that to compete with the new atoms coming out in october. battery life is the key selling point of netbooks, not how powerful they are, that is a notebook selling point. netbooks are for email, networking and net surfing primarily which doesnt require much processing power. I would stay awy from these and stick with atom based netbooks espeally the eepc models with 6 cell batterys which are best and run for over 8 hours easy!

5 hour battey life? what a joke, new atoms comming out in october will have 11 hours with the 6-cell batterys. currently some eepc netbooks can hit 8 hours with 6-cell for $350 price.

I wonder if this thing can play DVD’s. All the other netbooks out there with Atoms don’t seem to be able to. I agree with MisterK, why didn’t they put a Neo in this thing?

$399 – ouch! If size doesn’t matter (15″ screen) you can get a brand new real laptop from Acer/eMachines for $60 more.

You did manage to stumble across a truth in blind wanderings. The A64 L110 certainly will be faster than the Atom in single threaded applications, even some multi-threaded applications. But clockspeed has almost nothing to do with it.

It would have been nice if gateway and squeezed a dual core neo processor in there though. Would make it an almost instant buy.
