I am hearing non-gaming related software add-ons, is the PSP Go going to be more than just a portable game console?

Its a good bit of money. Sony has made a habit of pricing themselves out of the competition in many respects this generation. I regrettably am in agreement that $250 is too much for a device this far down in its lifecycle - $199 would have been more attractive, but something like $149 would have the potential to totally re-energize the PSP market.

I'll be curious to actually get my hands on this thing. It looks terribly uncomfortable, but I've gotta believe it feels and works better than it looks. I'm still sporting my PSP 2000 with no plans to upgrade, but I hope this new offering is successful. The PSP can't survive on WipeOut and Ratchet & Clank games alone, with the occasional GoW game thrown in.

Heh, oops. clarified that. But I think there's just not enough reason to upgrade - especially if you've got accessories and games and all that. better to wait, you'll see steady but slow buying IMHO.

lol 95% old psp where is the other 5% then the go is not out yet. I have a psp 1000 and will be picking up the go so I can take it with me, the other psp is to big. pickup rate will be slow? how about you wait and see before you jump the gun because no matter how much you think $250 is its not much at all. for people who think $250 will make them starve might think about going to monster jobs or maybe the unemployment line?
