So it looks like this whole “iPod Touch with Camera” thing is coming to fruition. While the first case we saw was a little wonky, this makes more sense. Take a look at the back of your iPod touch – there’s a Wi-Fi antenna on the left side so the only place they could stuff a camera would be in the center, next to the antenna. I’m not sure what else is up in that spot, but the camera can’t take that much space.
UPDATE – Now there’s a freaking Nano case with a hole in it!
In short: your iPod Touch will soon take video and pictures. This will destroy the casual video recording market. Sucks to be Flip.

Definately holding off for the 3rd gen touch. A friend of mine bought a 2g just a week ago, and the next day I found out about the announcement that may or may not come in September. Since its only 2 or 3 weeks away, I believe I can wait that long. Any idea how long it will take “good” companies to make cases and stuff for the new ipod touch (ie, when will the invisible shield be available, speck, anything other than the lame flimsy silicone dust magnets)
Also, what purpose to the two small holes near the bottom serve? a friend of mine bought a case for his iPhone from wal-mart, and its got two holes in the same spot…
Oh, here’s another question/reason I think this is junk (yes I saw it myself on dealextreme, but still)… Why would apple turn from their usual round lens and go with a square one?? There are several scenarios that come into my mind, pick your favorite..
1> some schmuck trying to make a quick dollar by making cases for something that he doesn’t even know if it will work or not.
2> Its one of those foreign companies (like the ones that made the CECT p168 iphone clone), that made an “ipod clone prototype”, with a square camera lens, and are trying to sell cases by lying. The site claims it as an “iPod touch 3″… Not the normal Apple naming convention (they always call their items by their generation, right?)
3> someone that has too much time on his/her hands, and made a fake case just to stir up dust about the upcoming 3g touch..
The ipod nano has a video camera already, it was realesed recently.
