nvidia_logoSamsung is about to break the mold with its latest netbook: It’s going to have an 11.6-inch screen! On noes. Intel isn’t going to like that as it breaks the company’s so-called restrictions on netbooks. Anyway, according to DigiTimes, this netbook should come equipped with an Nvidia Ion platform paired with an Intel Atom N-Series CPU.

If for some reason this netbook gets you going where others haven’t, you will probably be able to pick it up by the end of the month. The rest of us though could care less about this netbook along with all the other underpowered computers even if it’s packing the Nvidia Ion.

  • I think this is a fairly interesting development as it shows a hint of innovation in a market that seems to have been churning out clones recently.

Netbooks are a great choice for people who don’t require overpowered energy inefficient machines – I mean, why does my mum need a Quad core processor just to check her email, MSN with the grand kids or watch a missed program on iPlayer?

The one place some extra power would be good would be for hi res video output and if ION can deliver on this then it’s a great little device!

  • Definitely agree with Jez on that one, will be interesting though to get the pricing on these. If mum could have a quadcore for the same price, that would throw a spanner in the worx wouldn’t it!
