It’s a full-blown civil war on the internet right now over whether Google’s Chrome OS is going to be the web’s ultimate salvation or be completely and utterly useless. I humbly suggest we wait until we’ve actually seen the OS before we make conclusions about whether it’s going to kill Microsoft and invade our lives. After all, the only thing that happened today was that Google said this thing existed.
So instead of breathlessly praising it or dismissing it completely, let’s just… watch and wait.

And where is the Linux version of Google’s Chrome web browser? Still waiting.
There is a developer channel version, works pretty well, last week flash plugins started working, expect that will be reflected to the channel in a few weeks.
Try the instructions for Linux:

This is the only post which makes sense! :-)
talking about it is half the fun…most people realize that
I agree. Lets not make any judgments (or any crazy predictions, like that it will be the end of Microsoft) till we see the freakin thing.
I think Google Chrome OS will be better than MS.
it will be free?
it will give ideas for other companies to probably do it better…hence I think nothing but good can come from it
I beg to disagree. The comments are where the insights are found. The more, the better, especially with news as important as Chrome OS. TC is good at announcing the news (and stirring the pot), its aggregate readership at analyzing them.
“I humbly suggest we wait until we’ve actually seen the OS before we make conclusions”
Why? It’s smart, useful, interesting and fun to analyze and envision what this move might entail. Waiting for it to be here is just about the dumbest thing to do.
“Make conclusions” does not mean “discuss.” We can talk about this all day long, but that doesn’t mean we have to proclaim, “It Will Fail” or “It Will Succeed.”
