Dru at Gearlive has unearthed a fascinating Escherian software solution that allows you to stream ZunePass music. Zune Pass, for those not in in the know, is Microsoft’s $15 a month streaming service that can blow music through your Zune and onto your Windows desktop. Then you need Orb. Then you send the music straight to the iPhone over the Interwebs. Simplicity itself.
Read his whole DIY if you’re so inclined. Then you can listen to your Orb-streamed music anywhere in the world.
Here you can see me playing some classic Michael Jackson. I downloaded all his albums with my Zune Pass, and had immediate access to them on the iPhone, by way of OrbLive. Do note, in OrbLive, you can specify if you are on Wi-Fi, 3G, or EDGE in the settings, and it will determine quality accordingly. So if you have a strong 3G connection in the car, you can even enjoy your tracks over your car stereo.

Oh the way people find ways to defeat microsoft. The zune pass was never a really good idea but microsft did a good job of advertising it against Apple’s iTunes store. But do we really want to pay $15 dollars a month for streaming music when we can get that with Pandora or just buy the album you want for less.

i guess this is alright, getting unlimited streaming to music for $15/month. and you also get 10 drm free songs to keep a month. so you don’t even need the internet they will be on the ipod.
ziggy your statement is really not down with the zune pass, i have 25,000 songs with the pass, and half of that pandora would not even have, and the cost of one album? get real, the zune pass is not marketed enough by MS, because it is a great deal. lets see, 25,000 songs to own from itunes, = $25,000 or same 25,000 songs on zune pass for about $150 a year? things that make you go huh
Sorry, the majority of us use limewire, torrents, and youtube rippers to get our songs for free.
I use the Zune software and hardware much to my delight. I love the blocky old-school feel of the Zune.
thanks for this post wow what a day maker!
OMG. 25000 songs are a lot to go! at $15 a month would be a great deal. thanks for the info. Goodluck!
