Well this is a sentence I’ve been wanting to write for some time now. There will be a third Mortal Kombat movie. So confirmed the actor who played Scorpion in both Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

Yup, according to Chris Casamassa, filming will begin in September.

Casamassa is now 44 years old, meaning that he was a spritely 30 years old when he was fighting Johnny Cage in The Living Forest in Mortal Kombat.

Now, I haven’t seen the original movie for a few years now, but I have memories of it not being a piece of junk. That is to say I remember it being halfway decent, as far as silly action movies go.

The second movie, on the other hand, was rubbish. I knew that when I saw it in the theaters in 1997.

Finger’s crossed!

(Shame the franchise has gone to dust since 1995, though.)

  • I’ll be honest – I actually liked the first movie too. I haven’t seen it in a few years either, but as far as those movies go, I think it would probably stand up. Plus it had Christopher Lambert. And Veronica Vaughn, if I remember correctly.

I saw a few minutes of the second one on TV one time and turned it right now. Wasn’t even one of those “good-bad” movies it was so bad.

  • Isn’t this the equivalent of Rick Schroder telling everyone that they’re doing a Silver Spoons reunion just in hopes that maybe someone will pickup on the idea and he’ll get some work?

  • I hope the movie effects will be on the leave of the Matrix or Transformers.

  • The original MK is a nice “guilty pleasure”. A movie that has plenty of weaknesses, but who cares?

The 2nd one just reeked. Putrid. Gawdawful.

  • fuckkkkkkkkk all of yall who hate on mortal kombat that is my shit im 36 years of age and till this day i play the games i know every charcter so fuckk off niggass.
