I didn’t put it in quotes because he more endorsed it than straight up said it was happening, but I think we all know that if the big guy sees it happening, it’s probably happening sometime soon. Gates was talking about Natal in a broad and interesting interview over at CNET, and mentioned that Microsoft Research is deep into working on home and office implementations of the flashy stereo-camera setup. Great, because I’m planning on running Windows 7 for the next five years (or more, if it’s the next XP), and the touch and apparently motion controls being researched are making it a more and more versatile operating system than it already is.

The remainder of the interview (to be honest, the Natal part is only a little bit at the end) concerns Gates’ occupations now that he’s left Microsoft’s day-to-day activities, and he talks about some of his investment programs and what he’s looking forward to from Microsoft and other companies.

He gets a zinger off on Google Chrome OS, not exactly on the company or the upcoming OS, but on everyone who is slobbering over it:

When Google is doing anything it gets this–the more vague they are, the more interesting it is.

Is that not exactly right? I like Bill. I ought to call him up.

  • They’re making some pretty cool developments. Hopefully they’re not half-arsed and become actually industry leading.

  • Hopefully developing for Project Naval’s camera will be as easy as it is for the Xbox 360 (compared to the PS3).
The launch games will help making the interface popular, and the new user interface could be integrated in all entertainment sectors (I sound like a Project Naval fan already, blame it on Minority Report!).

  • This was a posting I put on a blog about the new technology Microsoft made with project natal please read I think this technology has greater limits tell me what you think This was after I saw the youtube video of milo the new AI project natal created .

“Think about it what if we didn’t have to search Google but rather said find this info or search that info even do a cross reference on this or that then the AI assistant did it. Think about it we have been in search for AI as being a Physical human form thing but rather this project opens it up to much more imagine a true virtual assistant Milo all grown up your own avatar. One who would get data for you basically do our biding create blogs by voice even Pay bills without worry or even home school us to relevant data no more buying out dated text books but rather think of It as a companion not in a negative way but in a informative perspective way of thinking. The power of the web in it’s fullness within a human form much easier to relate to less evasive to interact with.
Microsoft has been on a mission to integrate all of its services from Xbox, Zune, and PC to entertainment now even cellular. What if Milo was not only on your TV but also traveled with you through your cell phone or smart system car display or laptop you could ideally take him almost everywhere with you imagine the possibilities please any one that reads this please respond to me via email at loganwilderllc@gmail.com
