Oh noes! IDC has estimated that Apple sold 1.21 million Macs last quarter, down 12.4 percent since last year. This puts Apple under Dell, HP, Acer, and Toshiba, in order of popularity.
Dell went down 18.9% while Acer popped up 51%. Internationally, Apple isn’t even on the map with HP, Dell, Acer, Lenovo, and Toshiba in the top 5. Toshiba? Really?

Wow Apple is now coming under huge pressure, 12.4% that is a huge amount! Not surprising to see efficient, trustworthy Dell up there :)
Pfffft! Who cares! The question is who made the most profit on all those PC sales?
Just like Al said above. I think Apple would love to close that 12.4% gap but at the same time, they probably made the most profit between all those companies. When there’s a recession, people tend to spend less on thousand dollar laptops and more on 300 netbooks.

Dell uses inferior parts in their computers. I am not surprised that Dell is currently number one. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.
A little mistake here – sold 1.21 million Macs last year – this year, I guess
