What? Did you really think that Nintendo was going to send the US something as cool as a black Wii? Straight from the horse’s mouth via GameDaily.

We contacted a Nintendo representative as to when and if this sexy system will arrive Stateside, and he says there are “no plans to have other colors of Wii in the U.S.”

Anyone in Japan can pick one up on August 1. Does anyone want a black Wii?

  • Nintendo killed our hopes of what could have been an amazing looking game console. I’m tired of seeing the same old white ones. If they released an all new black one, I’d buy it even though I don’t really need a wii right now. http://ziggytek.com/

  • Yeah, I don’t see the appeal of having a black one. I’ll just spray paint mine for $5.

    • Neither do I, but some people are pretty strict about looks.

I know someone who wants to buy an Xbox360 elite over any others just because its black and will match the rest of his entertanment center. This person would also prefer a phone with no keyboard than one with just because it would make the phone smaller.

So yeah, Nintendo is really being idiots for not releasing the black Wii in the US. I mean, they sold multicolored gameboys and DSs and they sold well.

  • If Nintendo does ship the Wii to North America, the terrorist win.

  • Nintendo is foolish. They could make more money by offering different colors. Color attracts people.

    • I’m not understanding why they publisized the greatness of the new limited edition black wii to the US if it wasn’t going to be available in the US. It seems to me like Nintendo wants the US to spend money on the competitors. Its sort of confusing because they’ve made other products in some weird rainbow colors and we bout it and bout it. Now we can’t get black? Its just seems quite foolish. Whateva- You won PS3!

  • I found a great deal for the black limited edition packages and I got all the way to the checkout and realized in the list of locations US wasn’t 1 of them. I understand there’s a value difference in currency but that’s why we have currency convertors. Why was the information made worldwide and why the hell is all the information in english clearly stating the greatness of this device if it’s unvailable to us. When people do dumb things for no apparent reason, I just go to the competitor. U won PS3!
