p8654a-33Surge protectors are generally something that all of us have on our home computers, but leave behind when traveling. Mostly because even the travel options are large and a pain to use with notebooks. TRC seemed to have solved that issue with the ElectraShield.

This little guy goes in-line on the power supply and protects the attached computer from surges, brown-outs, and power spikes. Who knows how well it works, but I think it probably falls in the “it’s-better-than-nothing” category. At $9.99 and available in both two- and three-prong, travelers may want to pick up just in case.

  • Targus has the same exact thing for years now.

Got one from Fry’s for $14.99. You get both a two-prong and three-prong in-line surge protector.

You can probably find it cheaper at online stores.
